BestLife Board Member (2014–2025)
Karen Zoch was a deeply valued member of the BestLife Board from 2014 until her passing in 2025. A kind-hearted, wise, and generous leader, Karen brought over a decade of unwavering commitment, strategic insight, and care to our organisation.
Karen had a strong interest in governance and strategy, and her contributions helped shape BestLife into the organisation it is today. She was drawn to BestLife’s vision of young people with disability enjoying rich, fulfilling adult lives—independent of their families—and was especially passionate about creating opportunities for friendship and inclusive social experiences. This mission resonated with her own family experience.
In addition to her role with BestLife, Karen served in leadership and board roles on a volunteer basis across the education, sport, and recreation sectors for many years. Professionally, she held tertiary qualifications in human resources and worked for over 20 years in senior leadership roles across the not-for-profit and government sectors, including disability services.
Karen’s intelligence, patience, good humour, and heartfelt commitment to community were ever-present. Her legacy lives on in the growth she nurtured and the lives she touched.
We are beyond grateful. Thank you, Karen—for everything. You will always be part of the BestLife family.
